Kitten Faye and the Hurricane

There was a hurricane tonight. Mom and Dad were busy preparing food and reinforcing the doors and windows.

This was the first time Faye had ever experienced a hurricane since she was born, and she felt a little nervous.

Listening to the howling wind outside and watching the trees sway and bend in the gusts, Faye couldn’t help but move closer to her mom.

“Mom, will the hurricane blow our house down?”

“This hurricane is very strong, but Mom and Dad have already reinforced the doors and windows, so it won’t fall down,” Mom said.
Dad added, “But Faye, you must remember, you absolutely cannot go outside during a hurricane.”

Faye nodded vigorously. She had already learned a lesson earlier that day: she had planned to visit her good friend’s house, but as soon as she stepped outside, the wind blew away her beloved little umbrella, and she nearly fell. Fortunately, Dad noticed just in time and pulled her back. This was her first experience of a hurricane’s power.

Listening to the sounds of wind and rain outside, Faye knew Mom and Dad were well prepared, and she fell asleep peacefully.
