After Snow White obtained the magic book, she thought she had no talent and no teacher to guide her, making it difficult to learn. To her surprise, she picked it up quickly, as if someone were secretly instructing her.
The magic ring elf said with satisfaction, “This proves that the magic book wants to help you…”
One day, Snow White read in the magic book about a magical feather called the Flying Feather, which could carry people through the sky.
Snow White exclaimed, “How amazing! With it, I could fly in the sky…”
The elf flew out and said, “Isn’t it? The Flying Feather is a feather dropped by an ancient divine bird; it can change size, fly in the air, and can transform into other items at will. It’s truly a treasure among treasures!”
“Tell me where I can find the Flying Feather?” she asked eagerly.
“It’s rare for you to want something so much; I must help you, but unfortunately, I don’t know where it is. However, I believe the magic mirror must know.” the elf replied.
“But the magic mirror belongs to the queen; it only listens to her and won’t tell us anything.”
“Everything is worth trying. Besides, I have a way.” the elf said.
So, they sneaked into the queen’s chamber while she was away.
The magic mirror was surprised to see them.
“The magic ring elf? You really chose Snow White as your master?”
“Not a master, but a friend,” Snow White corrected.
The elf said, “Mirror, I think you should choose a new master like I did. The queen has a wicked heart; following her will only lead to harm.”
The mirror replied cautiously, “Don’t try to sow discord…”
Yet, she felt a stir within; she had once enjoyed her time with Snow White, which was completely different from being with the queen.
The mirror asked, “What do you want from me?”
“We want to know where we can find the Flying Feather.”
“The Flying Feather is a priceless treasure that has just appeared, but How could I possibly tell you? I only tell the queen!”
“I think you don’t know!”
“Don’t try to provoke me; I won’t fall for it!”
“I won’t beg you. You’re not the only one who knows where the Flying Feather is. The crystal ball is much more powerful than you; it says it’s by the largest lake.”
“It’s talking nonsense!”
“I think you’re the one talking nonsense! The crystal ball says you often make mistakes but claim to know everything, exaggerating your own abilities.”
As the elf spoke, he urged Snow White, “Let’s go find the crystal ball.”
The mirror grew anxious: “Come back! The crystal ball is slandering me! Listen closely: the Flying Feather is not by the largest lake, but on the oldest mountain. Go see for yourself, and you’ll know who’s right! Then you’ll understand who’s truly powerful!”
Thus, the magic ring extracted the information about the Flying Feather from the magic mirror, and immediately, Snow White and the elf set off to find this magical feather!
