After Snow White got the magic ring, the elf said, “I know where the most powerful magic book is; I’ll take you to get it. If you learn its magic, you’ll become one of the greatest wizards in the world!”
“Wizards? I don’t want to learn magic; it’s useless to me.”
“Useless? Can’t you see the queen wants to harm you?”
“How could she want to harm me?”
The elf took a deep breath, thinking it was a miracle she was still alive, given how many times the queen had tried to kill her.
So, he changed his statement: “With magic, you can help the weak and fight injustice. Don’t you want that?”
“Maybe…,” Snow White pondered. “You make a good point… Let’s go find that book now.”
She stood up to leave.
“Hold on! I need to warn you first. The magic book belongs to an old fairy, and she’s hard to deal with. Her guardian snake is more dangerous than mine. But don’t worry; I am also an expert in this area. I have the antidote ready… Now, turn your ring.”
Snow White turned the magic ring, and suddenly found herself at the base of a tall tower on a mountain.
The elf said the fairy lived at the top, but Snow White couldn’t find a door after circling the tower.
“Stop looking; there’s no door. But that won’t stop me…”
Before he finished, a figure flew out from the top, holding something.
In an instant, the figure landed—it was the old fairy.
Snow White was astonished to find that she was holding the queen.
The queen had blood at the corner of her mouth, clearly injured.
The fairy threw the queen to the ground, coldly saying, “Trying to steal the magic book? You got what you deserved with that snake poison! Now leave!”
The queen hurried away.
The elf whispered, “I should have guessed the queen wanted the magic book too. She’s seriously injured; the snake poison is indeed powerful. If she finds us, we should run…”
Before the elf could finish, the old fairy said, “Want to run? Step forward!”
The elf and Snow White had no choice but to come out.
“You must come for the magic book too. Do you know what that means?”
The elf put on a smile and said, “You’ll use the snake against us, but let me explain first..”
The old fairy interrupted, ” Since you knew it, you did it knowingly! Don’t blame me!”
A poisonous snake suddenly appeared and quickly bit Snow White.
Both Snow White and the elf screamed.
The elf said nervously, “Don’t… don’t be nervous. I was prepared, quickly apply the medicine.”
He gave her the medicine, only to find Snow White unharmed while the snake was vomiting blood.
Both the elf and the fairy were stunned.
The old fairy examined Snow White, saying, “The snake is extremely poisonous; a bite should injure or kill. You’re unharmed, while the snake is hurt. Unless one has an extremely pure heart, no one can do that.”
Snow White, feeling a bit scared, replied, “I… I want the magic book to learn magic in order to save people in emergencies. If you don’t want to, I don’t have to have it, so I’ll leave now.”
She gestured for the elf to go.
As they turned to leave, a voice called out, “Stop!”
The elf said, “We’re in trouble; she might use an even deadlier tactic against us.”
A book was handed to Snow White.
“Don’t you want the magic book? Take it!”
“No…”
Unsure of her intentions, Snow White hesitated, pushing it away.
The old fairy impatiently insisted, “Just take it!”
Snow White had no choice but to take the magic book.
The fairy sighed in relief, as if a burden had been lifted.
“This is the most powerful magic book in the world. Many seek it, but if it falls into the wrong hands, it can cause great harm. That’s why I had the snake guard it, though I was always anxious. On the other hand, I’m getting old and worry that I won’t find a new master for the magic book, which means the magic cannot be passed down. But now, I’ve found the perfect one. The snake has confirmed that you possess an exceptionally pure heart. I can finally sleep well now. You all can go; don’t delay me from my sleep!”
With a yawn, she left.
Thus, Snow White obtained the most powerful magic book in the world.
