A mouse accidentally bumped into a sleeping lion, waking it up.
The angry lion grabbed the mouse, intending to kill it.
The mouse pleaded, “Please spare me, and I will repay your kindness.”
The lion laughed and said, “You’re smaller than my paw. How could you repay me? Besides, I’m the king of the savanna. No one can defeat me. Do I really need your repayment?”
But after thinking for a moment, the lion realized there was no benefit in killing the mouse, so it let the mouse go.
A few days later, the lion was trapped in a hunter’s net. No matter how hard it struggled, it couldn’t escape, and it roared loudly, its voice echoing through the forest.
Hearing the lion’s cries, the mouse came and gnawed through the net with its sharp teeth, freeing the lion.
The mouse said, “You laughed at me for being small and useless, but now it’s proven that even a mouse can save a lion.”
This story teaches us: A small act of kindness can have a big impact.
