A stag, while drinking water by the river, saw his own reflection.

He thought, “I didn’t realize my antlers are so beautiful, like wearing a crown.”

He admired himself for a long time.

Then, he looked at his legs and thought with disappointment, “But my legs are long and thin, not good-looking at all, and don’t match my antlers.”

At that moment, he saw a panther rushing towards him like an arrow.

The stag quickly fled, running fast thanks to his long legs, soon leaving the panther behind and reaching a safe distance.

However, his antlers got caught in the branches of a tree.

Soon, the panther caught up and captured him.

Only then did the stag realize that the legs he thought were unattractive could have saved his life, while the beautiful antlers caused his death.

This story teaches us: we often value useless decorations while neglecting what is truly useful.
