The Fox and the Lion

A young fox had often heard people say how fierce and terrifying lions were, but it had never seen one.

One day, it finally saw a lion. Just one glance was enough to frighten the fox, and it quickly hid, thinking, “Lions are indeed terrifying.”

The second time it saw the lion, the fox wasn’t as scared. It hid behind a tree, quietly observed for a while, and then sneaked away.

The third time the fox saw the lion, it thought, “The more I see it, the less scary the lion seems.”

So this time, instead of hiding, the fox walked straight up to the lion and said, “Hey old man, how are you?”

Before it could finish speaking, the lion pounced on it…

This story teaches us that becoming familiar with evil can blind us to danger.
