The Fox and the Cat

A cat met a fox in the forest and greeted it, saying, “How are you, Mr. Fox? I’ve heard you’re clever and experienced.”

The fox arrogantly looked the cat up and down and said, “Of course! I’m nothing like you, you silly spotted cat. All you do is groom your whiskers and catch mice when you’re hungry. What skills do you have? How dare you talk to me!”

The cat humbly replied, “I only have one skill. If I’m chased by hunting dogs or other animals, I can climb a tree, and they won’t be able to catch me.”

The fox scoffed, “Just one skill? Climbing trees? Listen up! I have a hundred skills and countless tricks. Watch and learn from me. I’ll show you real talent and how to perfectly evade the hunting dogs…”

Just as the fox was speaking, they heard the sound of barking dogs.

A hunter with his dogs had entered the forest.

As soon as the hunting dogs saw them, they charged towards them.

The cat quickly climbed up a tree, reaching the top in no time.

Looking down, the cat saw the fox still on the ground and hurriedly said, “Mr. Fox, why aren’t you running? Hurry and use one of your hundred skills and tricks to escape!”

But it was too late. The dogs caught up to the fox and captured him.

The cat sighed, “Mr. Fox, none of your hundred skills or tricks could help you. If only you knew how to climb a tree like I do.”
