The palace held a grand ball, and Cinderella’s family was invited.
Stepmother said, “I heard that the king and queen want the prince to choose a bride from the girls at the ball, so this time, we absolutely cannot let Cinderella go!”
The second daughter said, “After the last embarrassment, we found out she has a magic wand that can turn rags into the most beautiful gowns. I’m afraid she might put on the gown and sneak into the palace herself.”
The stepmother sneered, “We’ll steal her magic wand and lock up the carriage. Let’s see how she’ll get there!”
On the day of the ball, after the stepmother and her two daughters left, the little bird said, “Cinderella, hurry and get dressed. We’ll go to the ball ourselves!”
The big tree said, “Yes! Use the magic wand to dress up as the most beautiful girl!”
Cinderella excitedly said, “I want to go to the palace too.”
She went to get the magic wand but found it missing.
The little bird said, “I understand now. Yesterday I saw the stepmother and her daughters sneaking out of your room, hiding something. They must have stolen the magic wand. What should we do?”
Then they heard a voice, “Am I so easy to steal?”
They looked up, and the magic wand flew out from nowhere.
The magic wand said, “They tried to steal me, but I’m a sentient magic wand. Can I be stolen or used at will? They took a fake one. Cinderella, quickly use me to get dressed!”
So, Cinderella waved the magic wand, and her rags turned into a gorgeous evening gown, even more beautiful than the last time.
She waved it again, and her hair was elegantly styled as if by the best hairdresser.
The little bird and the big tree said, “Shoes! Don’t forget the shoes!”
Cinderella looked at her worn-out shoes and waved the magic wand.
The old shoes turned into glass slippers, crystal clear.
The little bird and the big tree exclaimed in unison, “Gorgeous! Quickly get in the carriage and head out!”
But then they realized the carriage was locked up.
Cinderella said, “Don’t worry…”
She waved the magic wand at the largest pumpkin in the garden, and it turned into a magnificent carriage.
The big tree said, “We have a carriage, but who will be the coachman?”
The little bird said, “Of course, it’ll be me! I know the way to the palace very well. Cinderella, turn me into the coachman, and we’ll set off immediately!”
