The Walking House

Today, Ball had planned an outing with Handsome Cat.

When Ball went next door early in the morning to find Handsome, Handsome was startled as soon as he opened the door. Ball was covered in large and small bags.

Handsome said, “Why are you bringing so many things? We’re going on an outing, not moving house! Look at you—it’s like you want to bring the whole house with you.”

“The beach we’re going to is a bit far, so we need to bring more things. If I could, I’d bring the whole house!” Ball replied.

“Listen, you only need to bring lunch…”

Handsome was about to take off Ball’s things, but Ball quickly grabbed his bags back, adding, “No, I’ve invited other little animals to read comics and play with toys. How can we play without these?”

Handsome sighed helplessly and called to the robot housekeeper, Minnie. “Go make some preparations.”

Minnie agreed and left.

A while later, Minnie returned and said, “Master, everything is ready.”

Handsome opened the door, and Ball was surprised. “How come there’s a house at the door all of a sudden? When was it built? I didn’t see it when I came in.”

“This is a walking house! Didn’t you want to bring the house? Let it bring you instead! It has everything inside, so you don’t need to carry all those bags.”

Ball rushed into the house, exclaiming, “Wow, it’s just like being at home! We can cook and sleep here. We don’t even need to bring lunch!”

“You still need to bring lunch—after all, it’s your mom’s thoughtful preparation,” Handsome replied.

Handsome brought the lunch inside, and they set off.

Ball opened the window and was amazed to find that the house was indeed running, just like a car. Ball laughed gleefully.

Animals on the road stopped and watched the walking house curiously. “The house can actually walk!”

The walking house moved faster than a car, and when they arrived at the beach, the other animals hadn’t yet arrived.

When the others arrived at the seaside, they looked around and said, “Why isn’t Ball here yet? Let’s play for a while first. But why is there a house here?”

Just then, Ball stuck his head out of the house and called, “I’ve been here for a while!”

“Ball, is this… your house? When did your family build a house here?” one of the animals asked.

Feeling a bit proud, Ball stretched his voice and said, “Nooo, this is a walking house. I brought it from home… well, actually, it brought me here.”

The other animals gathered around the house, inspecting it and discussing it excitedly.

Just then, someone sneered, “A walking house? It’s just an RV. We have one too, an imported luxury RV with powerful air conditioning. You can’t do without AC in this heat!”

The animals looked and saw the haughty Big Boss Cat and Little Boss Cat, who had also come for an outing.

Bunny Snowy said, “Oh my, Little Boss, take a closer look. Ball’s walking house isn’t an RV. Look, it’s made of bricks. It’s a real house, and it has windows on all sides. It must be really breezy and cool.”

Ball giggled. “Snowy, you have a sharp eye. My house has great cross ventilation. It’s much cooler without AC. Look, the wind even messed up my hair! It’s way more eco-friendly than air conditioning. Big Handsome, right?”

Handsome smiled and sipped his tea. “Absolutely right.”

Big Boss and Little Boss’s faces turned a mix of frustration and embarrassment, and they quickly hopped into their RV and drove away.

The little animals happily ran inside the house. They drank tea and admired the sea view from the windows.

Little Deer said, “It’s so beautiful. I’ve always wanted a sea-view house, but if it could move, the view would be even better…”

Before he could finish, the house suddenly started moving, stopping exactly where Little Deer had pointed.

Everyone was startled. “This house can understand what we say and follow our instructions?”

Ball proudly said, “Of course! Big Handsome is a flying alien cat. The house must be high-tech too.”

The little animals looked at Handsome with admiration, and Handsome stylishly flicked his hair.

After enjoying tea, the little animals ran outside to play on the beach, unaware that two wolves were lurking nearby, plotting to catch them.

It was Ade and Lee, who had also come for an outing. Watching the little animals’ carefree joy, Ade said maliciously, “About to die, still laughing so loudly.”

“We didn’t bring lunch, so let’s make them our lunch!” Lee added.

As they stealthily approached, Handsome spotted them and shouted, “The wolves are coming! Quick, get inside the house!”

The little animals screamed and rushed into the house.

Seeing they’d been spotted, Ade and Lee immediately lunged toward the house, but as they jumped, the little animals had already entered, and the door shut instantly.

The wolves missed and hit their heads on the door, leaving them with swollen foreheads.

Inside the house, the little animals were catching their breath, saying, “That was close! Thank goodness for this walking house and Big Handsome.”

Outside, Lee, rubbing his forehead, said, “Big bro, those little brats are small, but they’re slipperier than eels. What now?”

Ade sneered, “Don’t think you’re safe just because you’re hiding in there.” He pulled out a hammer.

Ade and Lee began hammering at the house, but inside, the little animals screamed in terror while Handsome calmly sipped his tea.

After a while, the two wolves were exhausted, but the house remained undamaged.

Handsome laughed. “Do you think my house is like the straw or wooden houses from The Three Little Pigs? Let me tell you, this house is made with high technology. It’s stronger than any ordinary brick house. Stop wasting your energy!”

The little animals breathed a sigh of relief, laughing reassuringly.

Ball, however, said with a bit of regret, “Even though they can’t get in, we can’t get out either. We rarely make it to the seaside, and I wanted to sunbathe.”

Handsome smiled. “That’s easy to fix.”

He picked up a remote-like device, pressed a few buttons, and one of the walls extended outward, creating a new space with no roof, so they could bask in the sun.

The little animals were thrilled. Some read comics, some sunbathed, and others played games.

Outside, Ade and Lee watched, fuming.

“Big bro, that demon cat is showing off again. Look at them, they seem so carefree, not paying us any mind. What now?”

Ade said maliciously, “We’ll wait here. They have to go home eventually. I don’t believe they won’t come out!”

“But we haven’t eaten yet,” Lee complained.

“Hold it in!” Ade growled.

The two wolves stayed on guard, hungry and frustrated. But instead of the little animals coming out, the walking house started moving again, heading back home. They never expected it could walk!
