In the previous chapter, Ball decided to lead the little animals in a daring escape from the Wolf’s Castle.
Ball devised a clever plan: he had the wolf dress him and the little cat, rabbit, and deer up as little wolves.
Together, they made a mad dash for the castle gate. Since they were all dressed as wolf pups, the other big wolves barely noticed them.
However, halfway through their escape, they encountered a friend of the wolf, who stopped them and said, “Where are you little wolves running off to? You didn’t even greet me, your uncle!”
The other animals grew nervous, but Ball stayed calm. He quickly replied, “The demon cat has gotten into the castle. Uncle Wolf, hurry and help! We’re going to inform the guards to catch him.”
The wolf’s friend immediately ran off to assist, and Ball and the others continued toward the gate.
When they finally reached it, Ball took a deep breath and said, “Once we pass through this gate, we’ll be free of the Wolf’s Castle. There are guards here, but don’t be nervous. Stay calm and remember—we’re little wolves now.”
The group walked toward the gate, trying to appear relaxed.
The guards saw a group of young wolves and let them pass without suspicion.
As soon as they were outside, the group breathed a sigh of relief. They exchanged smiles and were about to run when a voice called out, “Stop right there!”
Startled, they turned to see the leader of the gate guards approaching.
“Where are you little wolves going? Young ones aren’t allowed to leave the castle alone. I’m a very responsible gate guard!” he said.
Thinking quickly, Ball responded, “If you’re so responsible, how did the demon cat manage to get into the castle? Everyone is trying to catch it! Hurry and help! We’re heading to another forest to get help from my mom and grandpa!”
The guard’s expression turned serious. “What? The demon cat got in?”
He immediately ordered the other guards to secure the gate and rushed off with a group to help.
This time, Ball and the little animals truly escaped. They ran joyfully, laughing together.
Ball reminded them, “Even though we’re out of the castle, we need to keep running! They might still come after us!”
As they ran, suddenly, someone leapt out from the bushes and captured them before they could react.
Startled, they found themselves face-to-face with the wolf’s wife and her two children.
It turned out that the wife and her pups had just returned from her mother’s home in another forest. From a distance, she noticed a group of little wolves—two of whom looked exactly like her own children.
Suspecting something was off, she had her children hide in the bushes to ambush them.
When Ball and the others passed by, the ambush succeeded. The wolf’s wife grabbed Ball and the little cat, while her children caught the little rabbit and the little deer.
“How dare you pretend to be my children!” she exclaimed. “Tell me what’s going on!”
Just then, the wolf appeared, chasing after them.
What will happen to Ball, the little cat, the little rabbit, and the little deer? Stay tuned for the next chapter!
