One day, Ball was next door with Handsome Cat, enjoying comic books. Just as he was getting really immersed, someone suddenly shouted, “Ball, I told you to clean up your room! Instead, you’re hiding out at Handsome’s house.”
Ball was startled, looked up, and saw his mom standing next to him, glaring at him angrily.
“I’m going to watch a movie with Handsome later,” Ball said, “I’ll tidy up when I come back.”
His mom frowned. “No way. The New Year is in two days, and everyone is cleaning their homes spotless, but you’ve turned your room into a dump. If you don’t clean up properly, you’re not going anywhere. Now I’m going to buy some things for the New Year, and when I get back, I want to see that your room is cleaned up!”
With that, she left.
An hour later, Ball’s mom returned with groceries.
As soon as she walked in, she saw Ball sitting on the couch, laughing at cartoons.
Ball’s mom was furious. “Ball, I told you to clean your room, but you’re just watching cartoons!”
Ball quickly said, “But I already cleaned up!”
She was skeptical as she opened the door to his room. “Really? You cleaned up that fast?”
Before she could finish speaking, she gasped in surprise, “You really did clean up! Your room has never been so tidy!”
Ball beamed, “Not only did I clean my room, but I also cleaned the whole house!”
His mom looked around and saw the spotless floor, everything neatly arranged on the tables and shelves, and the windows sparkling clean.
She was stunned. “I was planning to clean for the New Year, thinking I’d be exhausted, but I didn’t expect you to finish the whole house so quickly.”
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Ball’s mom opened the door to find the neighbor cat granny holding a bag of snacks and smiling.
“I came to thank Ball and Handsome. They helped me clean up. This bag of snacks is for them.”
Ball’s mom was even more surprised. “So, you not only cleaned our house but helped tidy up the neighbor’s too?”
It turned out that after Ball’s mom left, Ball and Handsome Cat went to Ball’s house.
When they opened Ball’s room, Handsome couldn’t help but say, “It’s so messy. No wonder your mom said it looked like a garbage dump. Look, even the snack wrappers are everywhere. Be careful, or you might attract mice, and they could carry you away in the middle of the night.”
Ball sighed. “But the movie is about to start! There’s no time to clean up now!”
Handsome Cat grinned. “Alright, I’ll help you this time, but don’t make a habit of it.”
Ball jumped up excitedly, “Big Handsome, are you really going to help me clean?”
Handsome chuckled. “Do you think I, Handsome Cat, need to do it myself?”
Handsome Cat was a flying alien cat, so he summoned his robot butler from his home.
“Butler, clean up Ball’s house,” he commanded.
The butler agreed and placed something on the ground. It started sweeping the floor and mopping it.
At the same time, she took out two objects in the shape of palms. The two palms began to wipe the table and the cabinets. After finishing, they started wiping the windows.
Once they were done, the two palms also neatly organized everything.
In the blink of an eye, the entire house looked as good as new. Ball couldn’t help but chuckle.
But then, his smile froze. He saw through the window that the neighbor cat granny had climbed onto a chair to clean her windows and had fallen off.
Ball and Handsome Cat rushed to the neighbor’s house.
The neighbor cat granny said, “I wanted to clean the windows, but I didn’t expect to fall.”
Handsome Cat said, “Leave that to me and Ball.”
So, Handsome Cat summoned the robot butler again. While the neighbor cat granny rested inside, the butler quickly cleaned her house as well.
Neither Ball’s mom nor the neighbor cat granny knew about the robot butler and assumed the work was done by Ball and Handsome Cat.
At this point, Ball turned to his mom and said, “Mom, we finished everything. Can we go watch the movie now?”
Still puzzled, his mom muttered, “Well, you not only finished the task but exceeded expectations. Go ahead.”
Ball happily accepted the snacks from the neighbor cat granny and, holding Handsome Cat’s hand, skipped off to watch the movie.
