Saving Snow White

One day, after dinner, Ball held his fairy tale book and went to the house next door where Handsome Cat lived, begging Handsome Cat to tell him a story.

So Handsome Cat told him the story of Snow White.

After finishing the story, Ball loved it so much that he pointed to the pictures in the book and said, “Big Handsome, can you take me to the forest where Snow White and the dwarfs live? I want to see what’s different about that forest compared to ours, and most importantly, I want to see Snow White.”

Handsome Cat said, “Are you talking nonsense because you have a fever? This is just a book, how can we go there? It’s impossible!”

Ball said, “You must have a way, after all, you’re an alien cat who can fly.”

Ball kept pestering, so Handsome Cat had to say, “Okay!”

Handsome Cat took out a mirror as he spoke, placing it in front of the book, and said, “This mirror can take us on a journey to the world inside the book, where we can participate in the stories, but what will happen, even I don’t know! You mustn’t regret it!”

Ball clapped his hands and said, “Wow! Snow White’s stepmother had a magic mirror, I didn’t expect you have one too. Let’s go quickly!”

Handsome Cat took Ball’s hand and flew towards the mirror.

In an instant, they arrived in a forest. Ball felt everything before him was so familiar – wasn’t it the forest from the illustrations in the fairy tale book? They had indeed entered the world of the book.

Ball was a bit excited and a bit scared, not knowing what would happen.

Handsome Cat led Ball, looking around as they walked, and suddenly they saw a small wooden house ahead.

Ball felt that this little wooden house was also very familiar – wasn’t it the one where the seven dwarfs lived in the fairy tale book?

Ball pulled Handsome Cat and ran over.

They peeked through the window and saw seven small people inside, indeed the seven dwarfs.

At that moment, the dwarfs heard movement outside and asked, “Who’s there?”

They spotted Ball and Handsome Cat at the window and smiled, saying, “So it’s two cats. It’s windy outside, and there might be predators. Come inside quickly!”

Ball thought to himself, “The dwarfs are really friendly!”

Handsome Cat thanked the dwarfs, saying they had other matters to attend to, and bid farewell to them with Ball.

As they continued walking, suddenly they heard someone shouting for help.

Then, a girl ran desperately towards them.

Ball felt that this girl looked very familiar – wasn’t she the Snow White from the picture in the fairy tale book just now?

Ball felt both happy and scared. He was happy because he finally saw Snow White, but scared because behind Snow White, there was a group of soldiers wielding knives and chasing her.

When Snow White reached Ball and Handsome Cat, Handsome said, “Don’t be afraid, I’ll help you deal with them!”

Despite saying this, Handsome Cat didn’t move at all, just standing there.

Ball became anxious and shouted, “Big Handsome, why aren’t you moving? They’re about to catch up!”

Handsome Cat waited until the group of soldiers was only a dozen steps away from them before he took something out and tossed it into the air.

Suddenly, a large net appeared above the soldiers’ heads, firmly trapping them all.

Ball said, “Is… is this effective?”

Handsome Cat replied, “Of course, you don’t know the power of this treasure. It’s called the Heaven and Earth Net. No matter how much ordinary people struggle, they can’t break free!”

Before he could finish speaking, Ball exclaimed, “They’re coming out!”

Handsome Cat looked and saw the soldiers swiftly cutting through the net with their knives and breaking free.

Slapping his forehead, Handsome Cat said, “I forgot they had knives. Let me try another treasure.”

He pulled out something, tossed it into the air, and suddenly a cage-like thing appeared over the heads of the soldiers, securely trapping them.

Handsome Cat chuckled, “This treasure of mine is called the Copper and Iron Wall. No matter how knives and spears slash, it remains unscathed.”

Snow White thanked Handsome Cat.

The soldiers inside the cage pleaded for mercy, telling Snow White, “The queen ordered us to kill you, but we don’t want to. However, you know, if we don’t obey the queen, she’ll kill us.”

Hearing this, Snow White softened and said to Handsome Cat, “Please release them! They are also being forced.”

Handsome Cat replied, “Since Snow White is pleading for you, I will let you go!”

Just as they finished speaking, the iron cage opened.

The soldiers thanked Handsome Cat and Snow White, then ran out of the forest.

But how could Snow White’s stepmother spare her?

Just as Handsome Cat was rescuing Snow White, her stepmother saw everything through the magic mirror.

She thought to herself, “This cat is clearly a demon cat; it seems I, as a witch, must take matters into my own hands!”

She rode her broomstick and flew straight to the forest in an instant.

Riding her broomstick, she flew into the forest and arrived in front of Handsome Cat and Ball.

As soon as Ball saw her, he recognized her as the stepmother of Snow White from the fairy tale, also known as the queen.

Ball was so frightened that he hid behind Handsome Cat and said, “Big Handsome, what do we do? Unlike the soldiers just now, the queen isn’t an ordinary person; she’s a witch with spells!”

At this moment, the queen spoke, addressing Handsome Cat, “You demon cat, disrupting my plans. Today, I’ll make you taste my power!”

The queen, as she spoke, drew out a sword and hurled it towards Handsome Cat.

This sword seemed to have eyes and wings, swiftly flying towards Handsome Cat.

Unperturbed, Handsome Cat calmly took out a fan and waved it towards the sword.

The sword turned around and flew back towards the queen.

The queen was frightened and quickly dodged aside to avoid being hit.

She was about to speak when Handsome Cat waved his fan at her again.

In an instant, the queen disappeared without a trace.

Ball giggled, and Handsome Cat burst into laughter.

Ball said, “Big Handsome, you’re amazing! Is this fan the plantain fan of Princess Iron Fan from Journey to the West?”

Handsome Cat looked at the fan in his hand and said, “Hmm, I think my fan should be much more powerful than the plantain fan. The plantain fan can only blow people away, but as you just saw, I can turn weapons around and make them stab their wielder!”

At this moment, Snow White, who had been standing by, spoke up, saying, “I really don’t know how to thank you!”

Ball said, “Don’t be polite. There’s a small wooden house ahead where seven dwarfs live. They are very warm and kind. You should stay there for a while!”

Ball and Handsome cat accompanied Snow White to the dwarfs’ small wooden house.

The dwarfs indeed warmly welcomed Snow White to stay.

Handsome cat said to Ball, “Alright, it’s time for us to go back!”

However, Ball said, “No, we can’t. The queen hasn’t made Snow White eat the poisoned apple yet. She will definitely come back, and we must help until the end!”

Ball refused to leave no matter what, so Handsome cat had no choice but to stay as well.

Meanwhile, the queen, having been slapped far away by Handsome cat, finally managed to find her way back to the palace.

She thought to herself, “This cat is truly powerful. I must devise a plan.”

The queen used her witchcraft to concoct the most poisonous apple in the world and transformed herself into an old lady.

She came to the forest and knocked on the door of the small wooden house.

When Ball saw the old lady, he was so scared that he hid behind Handsome cat.

He recognized her as the old lady the queen had turned into in the fairy tale book and illustrations.

The old lady took out the apple and offered it to Snow White.

Ball immediately shouted, “Don’t eat it! The apple is poisoned!”

The old lady was startled. She took another apple from her basket and took a bite, saying, “I have eaten it myself. How could the apple be poisoned?”

It turned out she had prepared another apple without poison, and she had eaten the safe one.

The old lady urged Snow White to eat quickly, and Snow White took a bite.

Ball anxiously said to Handsome cat, “Why didn’t you stop her? The apple she ate must be safe, but the one Snow White ate must be poisoned!”

Before Ball could finish speaking, they heard a loud scream from the old lady, who fell to the ground.

She transformed back into the queen, coughing up blood, saying, “What’s happening? It should have been Snow White’s apple that was poisoned! Why am I the one falling?”

Handsome cat said, “I swapped your apples. This is what they call ‘what goes around comes around’!”

Ball said, “Big Handsome, so you swapped them! No wonder you were so calm! But why didn’t I see you do it?”

Handsome cat replied, “If you had seen it, would I still be the alien flying cat?”

At that moment, outside the small wooden house, they heard the sound of hooves.

Peering out the window, they saw a white horse carrying a handsome young man, heading towards the small wooden house.

Ball recognized him—he was the prince from Snow White’s fairy tale book, wasn’t it?

Ball was about to speak when he heard his mom calling.

Handsome cat said to Ball, “Snow White’s prince is here to take her, and your mom is calling you. We should leave!”

With that, Handsome cat grabbed Ball and dashed out of the mirror.

Ball’s mom was standing by the table, holding Ball’s fairy tale book, her mouth agape in astonishment.

She said, “I thought I just saw you two in the book…”

Handsome cat replied, “How could that be? Weren’t we right beside you?”

Ball’s mom rubbed her eyes and said, “I swear I saw it, but now it’s gone. Could I have been seeing things?”

Handsome cat said, “Must have been your imagination.” Ball thought to itself, “We experienced two days and nights in the book, but only an hour has passed outside of it!”
