Little Sandman

The queen’s plan to send a witch to kill Snow White failed, but she was not content.

This time, she decided to send the sandmen.

The sandmen, Dormon and Memon, are siblings. They haven’t actually grown up yet; they are just little  Sandmen.

They carry sand in their pockets, but it’s no ordinary sand; it’s sleep sand.

As long as they sprinkle sleep sand into someone’s eyes, that person will immediately fall asleep.

The difference is that Memon brings sweet dreams to people, while Dormon always brings nightmares.

The queen told them, “I have already tricked Snow White into the little cottage in the forest, and I have cast a spell on her. All you need to do is bring her into the dream, let her fall asleep, and she will sleep like Sleeping Beauty, never to wake up!”

Upon hearing this, Memon refused. She said, “Our responsibility as sandmen is to let everyone have a good sleep, to have good dreams. We absolutely will not do such bad things.”

But Dormon said, “Don’t worry, I’ve got this!”

With that, Dormon immediately went to find Snow White, and Memon couldn’t stop him.

Dormon arrived at the little cottage where Snow White lived and knocked on the door.

When Snow White opened the door, she found a child standing there.

Dormon pretended to cry and said, “I got lost and don’t know how I ended up here. Now it’s dark, and I’m scared.”

Snow White quickly said, “Poor child, come in quickly! You can rest here for the night. Children shouldn’t wander in the forest; there might be wild animals.”

As Snow White spoke, she let Dormon inside.

Once inside, Dormon seized the opportunity and immediately grabbed a handful of sleep sand to sprinkle on Snow White.

However, at that moment, a gust of wind blew in from the window, causing the sleep sand to miss Snow White’s eyes and blow into Dormon’s eyes instead.

A wave of drowsiness immediately engulfed Dormon, and he quickly rubbed his eyes, struggling to resist the urge to sleep.

While Snow White was busy making the bed for him, Dormon attempted to sprinkle a second handful of sleep sand on her.

However, Snow White noticed mosquitoes while making the bed and grabbed a fan to shoo them away.

As she fanned, the sleep sand blew into Dormon’s eyes again, making him yawn repeatedly from exhaustion.

Dormon tried to muster his energy and, seizing another opportunity, he attempted to sprinkle a third handful of sleep sand on Snow White.

However, at that moment, Snow White sneezed suddenly, causing the sleep sand to miss his eyes once more and blow into Dormon’s eyes instead.

Dormon immediately felt overwhelmed by drowsiness, unable to stand steadily anymore.

At that moment, Snow White had finished making the bed.

She turned around and saw Dormon struggling to keep his eyes open.

She said, “Oh dear, look at how tired you are, you can barely keep your eyes open. The bed is ready, so go ahead and rest. I’ll tell you a bedtime story…”

Dormon couldn’t recall how he ended up falling asleep on the bed, but he remembered the soothing voice of Snow White telling him a story, and he even had a sweet dream.

The next morning, when he woke up, the sun was already high up in the sky, and Snow White was nowhere to be found.

Only his sister, Memon, was smiling beside the bed.

“Where’s Snow White?” Dormon asked.

“Snow White has returned to the palace. How was it? Did you enjoy the sweet dream I concocted for you? You seemed to have slept quite soundly,” Memon replied.
