There was a shepherd who drove his sheep to graze on the mountain every day.
On the mountain, there was a big bad wolf.
It looked at the shepherd’s fat sheep, its mouth watering, knowing that it wasn’t just one sheep, but a whole flock.
But the shepherd had a hunting rifle, so the big bad wolf didn’t dare to act recklessly.
It was afraid of being discovered by the shepherd and accidentally getting shot.
After thinking for a while, the big bad wolf finally came up with a solution.
It went and bought a sheepskin and draped it over its body. From a distance, it really looked like a sheep.
The big bad wolf, disguised in sheepskin, blended into the flock.
Whenever the shepherd wasn’t paying attention, it would seize the opportunity to eat a sheep.
Thinking about all the sheep it could eat, the big bad wolf almost laughed happily.
In the evening, the shepherd drove the sheep down the mountain, and the big bad wolf followed the flock back to the pen because at night, it would be even harder for anyone to notice it eating sheep.
But the shepherd soon noticed that the number of sheep had decreased.
At first, he thought the pen was broken, but upon closer inspection, he found no signs of damage.
So he decided to keep watch at night to see what was going on.
At night, he hid on the side, keeping a close eye on the pen.
In the deep of the night, he saw a sheep lift the sheepskin draped over it, revealing the true face of a wolf.
The shepherd was stunned.
Then the big bad wolf grabbed a sheep, opened its jaws wide, ready to eat.
The shepherd immediately rushed forward and struck the big bad wolf with a stick, knocking it unconscious.
The shepherd tied up the big bad wolf, draped the sheepskin back over it, and then hung it from a tree.
People passing by, seeing a sheep struggling desperately on a tree in the shepherd’s yard from afar, ran over and asked the shepherd why he was being so cruel to the sheep.
But when they approached, they realized it was a wolf disguised in sheepskin.
The shepherd said, “I hung it up to give other wolves a warning. This is the result for any wolf that eats my sheep, even if it’s disguised in sheepskin!”
This story tells us that we should not judge a person’s character based on their appearance.
