One day, a farmer was working in the field when he suddenly heard a piercing cry.
He rushed over and found that an eagle had been caught in a hunter’s trap.
The eagle pleaded, “Please save me, and I will surely repay you!”
Feeling pity for the eagle, the farmer freed it from the trap.
Another day, the farmer, feeling tired from work, sat down to rest.
At that moment, an eagle swooped down and snatched his turban, then flew away.
The farmer hurriedly chased after it, recognizing it as the eagle he had once rescued.
After a short distance, the eagle returned the turban to the farmer.
The farmer said, “You, eagle, truly repay kindness with enmity. I saved you, yet you snatched my turban…”
Before he could finish his sentence, the farmer heard a loud crash behind him.
Turning around, he saw that the wall where he had been resting had collapsed.
If he hadn’t run after the eagle, he would have been crushed.
Realizing that the eagle had grabbed his turban to warn him, the farmer apologized profusely to the eagle for misunderstanding its intentions.
The farmer learned a valuable lesson: to never forget kindness received and to repay it, just like the eagle did.
He understood that those who do good deeds will also receive blessings in return.
