From then on, the goose laid a golden egg every day.

The farmer was overjoyed.

Every day, he sold the golden egg, exchanged it for money to buy rice, meat, and vegetables, and even saved some extra money.

The farmer’s family no longer worried about food and clothing, and soon they built a new house.

Their life became better and better, and they became richer and richer.

However, he was not satisfied. He thought to himself, “If I could get all the golden eggs from inside the goose’s stomach instead of waiting for one each day, wouldn’t I become the richest person in the city immediately?”

With this thought, the farmer killed the goose and cut open its stomach, but there was nothing inside.

Later, the farmer spent all his money, and life became difficult again.
