Once upon a time, there was a man named Aladdin who had two treasures.
One was an oil lamp that, when rubbed, would summon a giant.
The other was a magic ring that, when rubbed, would summon a genie.
Whenever Aladdin requested something from them, they would fulfill his wishes because whoever possessed the magic lamp and the enchanted ring was their master.
One day, while walking on the road, Aladdin saw the princess of his country and immediately fell in love with her.
So, he returned home, took out the magic lamp, rubbed it, and the giant appeared.
The giant said, “Master, what are your orders?”
Aladdin said, “Give me a palace, prepared with all kinds of gold, silver, and jewels, because I want to marry the princess.”
Before he finished speaking, Aladdin found himself in a magnificent palace, surrounded by piles of gold, silver, and jewels.
With the gold and jewels, Aladdin went to see the king, begging him to marry his daughter.
Seeing all the precious treasures and the splendid palace, the king agreed to give his daughter to Aladdin.
They held a grand wedding.
However, the wedding alarmed a magician. He was furious.
He angrily said, “The magic lamp and ring were originally mine, so the palace and the princess should be mine too. I will reclaim everything that rightfully belongs to me.”
It turned out that the magician had once used Aladdin to retrieve the magic lamp from the cave for him and had given him a magic ring for courage.
But when Aladdin got the lamp, the magician demanded that he hand over the lamp first before allowing him to exit the cave.
Aladdin wanted the magician to open the door first because he feared that once the magician got the lamp, he would trap him inside the cave.
The magician angrily said, “Then you shall remain in the cave forever. When you starve to death, I will open the door to take the magic lamp and the magic ring.”
With that, the magician left.
Luckily, Aladdin discovered the secret of the ring and the magic lamp, and he immediately had the genie transport him back home.
That’s how Aladdin obtained the magic lamp and the magic ring.
But now, the magician is coming to reclaim his treasures.
While Aladdin is out, disguised as an oil lamp seller, the magician arrives at the palace and says to the princess, “Do you have any old lamps? I can exchange them for new ones.”
The princess thought to herself: Aladdin has a very old lamp, which would be perfect to exchange for a new one. She didn’t realize that the old lamp was a magic lamp, so she took it to trade with the magician.
As soon as the magician laid eyes on the magic lamp, they sparkled with greed.
He snatched it away and rubbed it. A giant appeared, asking, “Master, what are your orders?”
The magician commanded, “Quickly move this palace and the princess to my territory!”
Before he could finish his sentence, the princess found herself in a strange place, surrounded by desolation with no one around. She was frightened and burst into tears.
When Aladdin returned and found the palace and the princess missing, he was relieved that he still had the ring with him.
He took out the ring and rubbed it. The genie appeared, asking, “Master, what are your orders?”
Aladdin said, “Take me to where the princess is immediately!”
Before he finished speaking, he was already by the princess’s side, who was still crying.
She was overjoyed to see Aladdin and said, “Let’s leave quickly!”
Aladdin replied, “We must take the magic lamp with us, or else he will use it to cause trouble for us again.”
So, the princess intoxicated the magician with wine and took back the magic lamp.
Aladdin rubbed the lamp, summoning the giant, who asked, “Master, what are your orders?”
Aladdin commanded, “Take away all the magic of this magician, and then move us and the palace back to where we were before!”
Before he finished speaking, Aladdin found himself back in the kingdom.
From then on, the magician lost his magic and couldn’t cause trouble for Aladdin anymore.
He and the princess lived happily ever after, and later even became king and queen.
