The mother goat gave birth to seven kids, and she cherished them dearly.
One day, when she had to go out, she said to her children, “I’m going out to buy food for you. You must stay at home obediently. Don’t open the door to strangers, especially the big bad wolf. This cunning fellow is good at disguising himself, often pretending to be someone else to deceive people. But there’s one thing that gives him away – his voice is hoarse, and his big paws are black. If you see these signs, never open the door.”
All seven kids remembered their mother’s words. So the mother goat went out.
Little did she know, as soon as she left, the big bad wolf happened to pass by.
He thought to himself, “The mother goat has left, and there are only tender little white kids left in this house, still seven of them. I’ll eat them all.”
At this point, the big bad wolf’s mouth was watering so much that it dripped onto the ground.
He rushed forward, knocking on the door and saying, “Children, I’m your mother, open the door quickly!”
The little kids replied, “You’re lying. My mother said the big bad wolf has a hoarse voice, but my mother’s voice is lovely.”
Upon hearing this, the big bad wolf immediately went to buy a jar of honey to drink, and sure enough, his voice became soft.
He thought, “Now I can finally deceive the kids.”
He ran back to the door of the kids’ house, knocked again, and said, “Quick, open the door! I’m your mother, and I’ve bought you lots of delicious treats!”
However, the little kids saw the big bad wolf’s black, enormous paws under the door crack and said, “You’re lying. My mother said the big bad wolf has big black paws, but my mother doesn’t have big black paws! You’re the big bad wolf!”
Upon hearing this, the big bad wolf immediately ran to a flour shop, bought some flour, and patted it on his paws. Indeed, his paws turned white.
The big bad wolf thought, “Now I can finally deceive the little kids.”
Sure enough, when the little kids heard the big bad wolf’s voice so soft and saw his white paws, they thought their mother had really come back and happily opened the door for him.
But to their surprise, it was the big bad wolf.
The seven little kids were frightened and hid. Some hid in the wardrobe, some under the bed.
But soon the big bad wolf found them and ate them all, in one bite each.
Having eaten the little kids, the big bad wolf walked out of the house, sat down on a nearby grassy area beside a tree, and unbelievably fell asleep.
Meanwhile, the mother goat returned home and was shocked to see the chaos inside.
She exclaimed, “My god! What’s happened? Where have my children gone?”
The mother goat was calling out for her children all over the house. At that moment, she heard a weak voice saying, “Mom, I’m here!”
The mother goat heard the voice coming from the clock box. She opened it and indeed found her youngest child inside.
The little kid said, “Mom, luckily I hid here. The big bad wolf couldn’t find me. But, all my brothers and sisters have been eaten by the big bad wolf!”
Upon hearing this, the mother kid burst into tears, and the little kid cried too.
Filled with anger, the mother goat stormed out of the house, determined to confront the big bad wolf.
As she stepped outside, she saw the big bad wolf sleeping under the big tree.
Angry as she was, the mother goat was about to approach, but the little kid stopped her and said, “Mom, something is moving and struggling in the big bad wolf’s belly. Maybe my brothers and sisters are still alive!”
The mother goat, upon seeing this, immediately had an idea.
She went into the house to get a rope and some herbs, tied the big bad wolf to the tree behind him with the rope, and placed the herbs next to the wolf.
Soon, the unpleasant smell of the herbs made the big bad wolf vomit, and six little kids were thrown out of his mouth.
The mother goat quickly took them into the house and shut the door tightly.
The big bad wolf tried to chase them but couldn’t move, realizing he was tied to the tree.
He cursed loudly and struggled for a long time before finally breaking free from the rope.
After cursing for so long, he felt thirsty, so he went to the river to drink water. Unexpectedly, he accidentally fell into the water and drowned.
The nearby animals saw this scene and happily ran to the mother goat’s house to thank her for getting rid of the menace.
👉 New Version
In a beautiful forest, there lived a mother goat named Bailey and her seven kids. They lived happily together.
But in the same forest, there also lived a big bad wolf named Jimmy, who constantly wanted to eat the seven little kids. Just thinking about their tender, white meat made him drool.
However, because the mother goat was always careful and the little kids were very clever, Jimmy never succeeded.
One day, seeing that the mother goat had left, Jimmy decided to try again and knocked on the little kids’ door.
He squeezed his voice and pretended to be the mother goat, saying, “Little ones, open the door, Mommy is back.”
The little kids asked, “Who are you?”
“Don’t you recognize my lovely voice? I am your mother, quickly open the door,” Jimmy said.
To sound like their mother, Jimmy had practiced a lot.
“Hmm, that does sound like Mommy’s voice… but Mommy always says that the big bad wolf is good at disguises, let’s check for other clues.”
The little kids peered through the crack at the bottom of the door and said, “Wow, it really is Mommy’s white feet, not the wolf’s big black claws.”
Jimmy trembled with excitement, thinking the little kids were starting to believe him. This time, he was fully prepared.
He said, “Not only are the feet like your mother’s, look through the window! From head to toe, I am your mother!”
The little kids pulled back the curtain and said, “It really is Mommy!”
“Little ones, it’s really me, your mother, no need to doubt. Quickly open the door!”
The seven little kids hurried to open the door.
As soon as the door cracked open, Jimmy reached his hand through and tried to push it open.
But just then, someone inside pushed the door back, and a loud voice shouted, “Don’t open the door!”
The little kids were startled and turned around, crying out, “It’s Mommy! How can there be two Mommies?”
Mother goat Bailey said, “I saw this guy pretending to be me outside the door, trying to trick you into opening it, so I quickly came in through the back door. But I was too late. Kids, push the door with all your strength!”
When Jimmy realized he was exposed, he grabbed the door with one hand and tore off his disguise with the other.
The seven little kids screamed, “It’s Jimmy!”
It turned out that Jimmy had specially had someone sew him a woolen coat to trick the little kids. When he wore the coat, his disguise was so convincing that he looked just like the mother goat, just like the wolf in the fairy tale who wears a goat’s skin, and no one could recognize him.
When the little kids saw it was the big bad wolf Jimmy, they pushed harder against the door. But even with the mother goat’s help, they couldn’t stop Jimmy’s strength. The door started to crack open.
Jimmy pushed the door with all his might and smugly said, “It’s too late. The door is already open. Do you really think you can stop me with your strength? Surrender…”
Before he could finish, he suddenly yelped, withdrew his hand, and the door slammed shut.
It was the clever third little kid, Clever, who had noticed the door was about to be pushed open. In a moment of inspiration, he grabbed a hammer and hit Jimmy’s outstretched hand. The blow hurt Jimmy, making him pull his hand back, and the door closed.
The seven little kids cheered.
Jimmy rubbed his sore hand, stomped his feet in anger, and said, “I’ll be back!”
