There once was a cute little kangaroo who loved to hop around everywhere, so everyone called him Hoppy.
Hoppy had a big dream—he wanted to travel far away and see the big wide world. But his mom didn’t agree. She said he was still too young.
When he got a little older, his mom finally said yes.
Hoppy was overjoyed! Just like a grown-up, he packed a small bag of dried carrots for lunch and set off with his little pouch on his back.
The sun was shining warmly, and the weather was lovely. Hoppy couldn’t help but look up and say, “Good morning, Mr. Sun!”
“Oh, it’s little Hoppy! Good morning to you too…” replied the sun.
Hoppy hopped and hopped—he hopped over mountains, over rivers, and through forests…
He met many animals, made new friends, and heard all kinds of exciting stories. Hoppy thought, “This trip was totally worth it!”
But then, Mr. Sun suddenly disappeared, and the sky grew dark. It was almost nighttime without Hoppy even realizing it.
He was scared. It was dark, and he couldn’t find his way home. What was he going to do?
Just then, a gentle voice said, “Don’t worry, little Hoppy. Mr. Sun has gone to rest, but I can light the way and take you home.”
Hoppy looked up—it was Miss Moon!
Miss Moon shone brighter and brighter. With her light and guidance, Hoppy made it home safely.
That night, Hoppy lay in bed, looking at the moon outside his window, and softly said, “Thank you, Miss Moon!”
That night, Hoppy slept extra soundly. He had fulfilled his dream and seen a bigger world. But he realized that home is the most comfortable place—it’s a safe harbor, and it’s the best destination of all.
