Every night before bed, the little bunny would lie in bed, gazing out the window at the twinkling stars.
He dreamed that one day, he could fly up into the sky, touch the stars, and have a little chat with them.
But one night, the stars were gone. The little bunny grew worried.
“Hmm,” said Mama. “There are thick clouds tonight. They’re hiding the stars.”
The little bunny felt a little disappointed.
But just then, he saw something twinkling outside the window.
He called out, “The stars! The stars have come to my window!”
To his surprise, the stars spoke, “Little Bunny, we’re not stars—we’re fireflies!”
“Fireflies? But you shine just like stars, and you twinkle too!”
“We do shine! That’s what we’re good at—twinkling in the dark!”
They chatted and giggled together.
The little bunny told them all about the fun things in the forest.
The fireflies told him about the exciting things outside the forest.
Finally, the little bunny asked, “Can I touch you?”
“Of course you can!”
That night, the little bunny fell fast asleep with a sweet smile.
And in his dream, he flew up into the sky, talked to the stars, and even touched them.
