The Little Fox Who Wanted to Fly

The little fox saw a little bird flying in the sky and felt extremely envious.

He ran to the edge of a cliff and said to the other animals, “Listen, I’m going to fly off the cliff just like the bird!”

The other animals were terrified and all tried to persuade him:
“Little Fox, don’t do anything reckless. You’re not a bird, and you don’t have wings. How can you fly? You’ll fall to your death!”

But the little fox wouldn’t listen. Imitating the bird, he jumped off the cliff.
Fortunately, he landed on a protruding rock, and an eagle carried him back up the cliff.

However, his leg was broken and his head was swollen from the fall.
The monkey doctor treated his wounds, applied medicine, and wrapped them in bandages. He said,
“It’ll take a few months for you to recover. You were already very lucky this time—next time you might not be so fortunate.”

The little fox felt deeply ashamed.

This story teaches us that blindly imitating others without considering our own conditions can lead to serious consequences.
