The warm winter sun shone down on the forest. The little animals basked in the sunlight while chatting about what they wanted to be when they grew up.
Piggy Roly said, “My dream is to become an athlete or a police officer.”
Lamb Curl said, “I want to be a singer! Ever since I heard the mermaid sing, I’ve loved singing!”
Little Rabbit said, “I want to be a painter!”
Kitten Mimi said, “My dream isn’t that big. My family runs a restaurant and an inn, and I just want to turn them into a five-star hotel. Then, one hotel will become two, two will become three, and I’ll keep expanding—first throughout this forest, then into the next one, and finally across the entire world…”
The little animals gasped. “Mimi, you call that ‘not big’? You want to be a great entrepreneur!”
“I think Mimi will definitely achieve his dream! Miss Panda, Mr. Polar Bear, and Miss Penguin all say Mimi is a great businessman.”
“Maybe the future richest animal in the forest will be Mimi.”
Everyone laughed—until a cold sneer interrupted them.
“Daydreaming!”
They turned and saw Tiger King and Wolf Dot.
Wolf Dot smirked. “Tiger King and I just opened an inn too. We’ll be the richest ones in the future!”
The little animals fell silent. Everyone knew their inn had terrible service and barely any customers.
Summoning his courage, Piggy Roly said, “That’s not necessarily true. Only those who run their business well will have more customers and become the richest.”
The other animals nodded in agreement.
Tiger King scowled. “It doesn’t matter who does better—we’ll always be number one! We’re the richest!”
“Why?”
Wolf Dot chuckled darkly. “You silly little things, asking why. If we run the best inn, we’ll be number one. But if Kitten runs a better one, we’ll just take it from him! Either way, we win!”
Then he and Tiger King burst into laughter.
The little animals cried out, “You want to steal it? What gives you the right?”
Tiger King folded his arms. “Because I am the King of the Forest!”
Just then, a voice rang out: “Try stealing, and I’ll have you arrested!”
Tiger King and Wolf Dot shouted back, “Who dares to arrest the King of the Forest?”
They turned around—and there stood Elephant Officer, frowning and glaring at them.
“I am the police of the Animal Kingdom! Whoever steals will be arrested!” Grumbling under their breath, Tiger King and Wolf Dot slinked away.
