The Man and the Lion

A man and a lion were arguing over which was stronger, but neither could convince the other.

The lion said, “We lions are the kings of all beasts.”

The man replied, “But we humans are the rulers of all things. Even the king of beasts must bow to us.”

At that moment, the man pointed to a statue and said, “Look, here’s proof. The great hero Heracles defeating the invincible Nemean lion.”

The lion laughed and said, “That statue was sculpted by humans. If lions were the sculptors, it would be the other way around!”

This story illustrates that the same event can be seen differently depending on one’s perspective.
