The Old Lion and the Fox

An old lion, unable to run or hunt anymore, faced the challenge of finding food.

He devised a cunning plan: pretending to be sick, he lured other animals to visit him and then devoured them.

The fox also came, but he stood far away at the lion’s doorstep. Despite the lion’s persuasion, the fox refused to step inside.

The fox explained, “I fear ending up like the others who entered your home but never returned. You ate them, and I don’t want to share their fate.”

The lion, shocked and curious, asked, “How did you figure that out?”

The fox replied, “The footprints at your door—all heading in but none coming out—say it all.”

Moral: Learn lessons from the misfortunes of others.
