The Hare and His Ears

A lion was injured by a goat’s horns while hunting and became furious. He ordered all horned animals to leave his territory.

All the animals were terrified and hurriedly packed their belongings to leave.

A hare also started packing to depart.

His neighbor, the cricket, asked him, “You are a hare and don’t have horns. Why are you in such a rush to leave?”

The hare replied, “I don’t have horns, but look at my big ears. The lion insisted my ears were horns. No matter how I tried to explain, it was useless. He said he would catch me for disobeying his orders. Luckily, I can run fast and have many rabbit holes, so I managed to escape. I can’t take this risk again.”

The moral of this story: Enemies will find any excuse to attack you, so don’t give them any opportunity.
