An old man had several sons who constantly quarreled with each other. Whether big or small matters, they always ended up arguing.
The old man was troubled and thought of a way to teach them a lesson.
He tied several sticks into a bundle. One day, when his sons were arguing again, he brought out the bundle and asked them to break it.
One by one, the sons took turns trying, but no matter how hard they tried, none of them could break the bundle.
The old man then untied the bundle and handed each son a single stick. They easily broke the sticks one by one.
The old man said, “You are like this bundle of sticks. If you stay united, you will be strong, and no one can harm you. But if you keep quarreling and isolating yourselves, you will be as weak as these single sticks and easily broken.”
This story illustrates: Unity is strength.
