A Stormy Evening

At dusk, the dwarfs had just returned home after work when they heard the rumble of thunder.

Looking outside, the sky was covered with dark clouds, and raindrops as big as beans were hitting the windows.

The dwarf named Mature quickly said, “Oh no, it’s going to rain heavily soon. Our wooden hut is full of holes and will leak again. Hurry, grab some buckets to catch the water.”

They rushed to grab the buckets but found there were no leaks. It turned out all the holes had been patched.

They paused in surprise, and Mature said, “Some wooden planks on the walls are cracked. With such heavy wind and rain, we need to reinforce them. Follow me quickly.”

However, the cracked parts of the wall had also been reinforced with wooden strips.

“What’s going on? The holes are patched, and the walls are reinforced. Could it have been done by Lazy?”

Lazy was skilled at this kind of work, but he was very lazy. Whenever asked to do something, he would always say, “Tomorrow,” and when tomorrow came, he’d say, “Tomorrow.”

“Lazy can’t possibly be this diligent. We’ve been asking him to fix the house, but he’s always procrastinating.”

“Then who could have done it? Surely it wasn’t Snow White?”

“Impossible! She’s a woman and a princess. How could she do such rough work?”

“It was me,” Snow White said as she brought out dinner. “I saw the house was full of holes and noticed some planks on the walls were broken. I thought if it rained and the wind blew, it would definitely leak and be drafty. So, while I had some time, I patched the holes and reinforced the walls.”

“Wow! Snow White, you can do anything!”

“It’s nothing. I’m taller than you, so it’s easier for me to reach the roof. Dinner is ready; come sit down and eat!”

At that moment, the wind and rain outside grew even fiercer, but inside the house, it was completely unaffected. They enjoyed the delicious dinner Snow White had prepared, listening to the sound of the storm outside, feeling very cozy.

“If it weren’t for Snow White, we’d still be battling the storm outside. But look at us now, enjoying a tasty dinner.”

However, Snow White said worriedly, “The cabin can withstand the storm for now, but if the wind and rain get stronger, who knows…”

Just then, the house suddenly shook violently, as if something was slamming into it.

They looked out the window and saw a tiger ramming against the door of the wooden hut, trying to break in!
